To promote athletic excellence, sportsmanship, and unity among Sepak Takraw athletes in the region, Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) – Main Campus will host the 1st EVSU President’s Cup Sepak Takraw Tournament 2026 at the EVSU Inner Court, Tacloban City, on January 10-11.

Said tournament will feature two main categories: Men’s Regu and Women’s Regu, providing both male and female athletes the opportunity to compete in the sport at a high level.

In line with encouraging wider participation, the registration fee is set at ₱500 for men’s teams and ₱300 for women’s teams.

Interested teams are encouraged to complete their registration on or before January 7, 2026, as late entries will no longer be accepted.

Moreover, the tournament offers cash prizes for top-performing teams, wherein in the Men’s Regu category, the champion will receive ₱5,000, the first runner-up ₱3,000, and the second runner-up ₱2,000.

Meanwhile, in the Women’s Regu division, the champion will take home ₱3,000, followed by ₱2,000 for the first runner-up and ₱1,000 for the second runner-up.

This highly anticipated sporting event aims to gather talented Sepak Takraw athletes from universities and colleges across Region VIII, offering a platform to showcase their skills, teamwork, and competitive spirit in one of the region’s most dynamic traditional sports.
