Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) – Main Campus officially opened the second semester of Academic Year 2025-2026 with a flag-raising ceremony held in front of the Administration Building on Monday morning, January 19.
Said activity marked the formal resumption of classes and was attended by students, University President Dr. Dennis de Paz, university key officials, faculty members, and non-teaching personnel.
Furthermore, both freshmen and continuing students returned to campus wearing their prescribed school uniforms in compliance with Memorandum No. 01-08-2026, issued on January 15, which mandates the implementation of the university-prescribed uniform.
In his welcome message, Dr. de Paz emphasized that students remain at the core of the university, noting that their presence gives life, purpose, and meaning to the institution.
“To our students, welcome back to your second home, your presence continues to give life, purpose, and meaning to this institution,” the university president expressed.
He also underscored the importance of setting clearer goals and strengthening resolve as the academic community recommits to excellence and personal growth this semester.
Meanwhile, Nick Andrei Pantin, a first-year Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) student, shared his expectations for the semester.
“This second semester, I am looking forward to learning new topics or lessons, enhancing my skills, and having a better and more productive semester,” Pantin shared.
Similarly, Althea Marie Riños, a first-year Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) student, expressed excitement over new opportunities and connections.
“I’m looking forward to meeting new people who will make my college journey much more bearable. Additionally, I’m looking forward to more school events that will create more meaningful memories of my college years,” Riños stated.
With the second semester now underway, EVSU students are poised to maximize academic opportunities and campus experiences toward both scholastic and personal development.
