Recognized for their creativity, active engagement, and impactful booth presentation, the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – Eastern Visayas State University Student Chapter (IECEP-EVSU SC) was named Overall Champion during the Organization and Booth Fair Awarding held at the Open Field, September 5.
The awarding ceremony followed comprehensive criteria for judging for booths, including interactivity, thematic design, collaboration, customer service, use of technology, innovation, educational value, and the People’s Choice Award, making the competition not only creative but also holistic in its evaluation.
Securing second place was the Federation of Junior Marketing Associations (FJMA), recognizing their team for exceptional overall performance throughout the fair.
Further, the third place award was given to the DOST-EVSU Scholars’ Council for Leadership, Assistance and Responsibility (ESCoLAR), which consistently delivered excellence and stood out among the competitors for their unique execution and dedication.
Moreover, special awards were also presented to organizations that excelled in various specific categories, promoting creativity, innovation, engagement, and service quality across different aspects of the fair.

Furthermore, the People’s Choice Award was awarded to Mathematics Education Students Society (MATHESS) after a campus-wide voting poll conducted via Google Forms, where they garnered 1,176 votes out of 4,852 total responses, translating to 24.2% of the total votes and earning them strong recognition from the student body.
Meanwhile, IECEP-EVSU SC President Louigie Guillera shared that they initially didn’t expect the booth to be judged, aiming only to create a memorable experience for the student community.
“We honestly had no idea the booth would even be judged until a day before the awarding. From day one, our mission was simple, that is, to give EVSUnistas, especially the freshmen, an experience they’d remember. But it turns out, we didn’t just create a booth, we set the stage, raised the bar, and proved that IECEP doesn’t just participate, we dominate!” the organization’s president asserted.
Additionally, Guillera reflected on the challenges of the past weeks, saying the win made all their efforts worthwhile.
“It feels incredible. The past two weeks weren’t easy, with exhibits, SOE anniversary events, and even assisting our freshmen with their USWAG presentation, all while having our booth, but seeing it all pay off as overall champion makes every effort worth it,” he shared.
The booth fair, held in celebration of the university’s 21st Charter Anniversary and organized in coordination with the Supreme Student Government (SSG), showcased a wide variety of creative and engaging booths led by student organizations across the campus, highlighting the vibrant involvement, talent, and unity within the EVSU student community.
