School supplies, a sack of rice, and canned goods were generously provided to the fire victims of the Quarry District spearheaded by the University President Dr. Dennis C. de Paz on Wednesday afternoon, September 27, held at the ABS-CBN Building.

The University President extended his deep sympathy to the victims of the fire incident through a touching address saying that the institution will always help its students in times of adversity.

“In life, unforeseen events occur, but remember, the University is always there for us. So, whatever it is—whatever happened in the past—you must forget about it because you know you have to move forward, always looking at the positive side of what happened,” Dr. de Paz reassured.

The distribution of the relief goods through the initiative of the President was co-facilitated by the Director of the Student Affairs and Services Office (SASO), Dr. Sonia T. Enrile together with Mr. Rex B. Palompon, Executive Assistant to the University President who both shared their hopes that the recipients would find solace and gratitude in the assistance provided by the university and other compassionate individuals.

Expressing their heartfelt appreciation for the university’s assistance, student victims voiced their gratitude during the event.

“Thank you, sir, and to all the coordinators of this event. Thank you for the groceries, especially the rice. It’s a big help for us, and I hope everyone is now recovering or healing,” expressed Jovil Marie.

“Thank you, this will truly help us, we don’t need to buy food for this week. Thank you so much,” said Ancel Lagurin.

In times of adversity, the spirit of unity and support within the EVSU community shines brightly, offering hope and assistance to those in need.
