MOSEVSU kicks off, Phase 1 concludes

In recognition of the outstanding performances and prominent dedication of students, student leaders, organizations, Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU)-Main Campus Student Affairs & Services Office (SASO) commenced the Search for EVSU Most Outstanding Student (MOSEVSU) at the university Executive House on Tuesday, June 6.

MOSEVSU is an annual search for the university’s most outstanding students and student-organizations, consisting of two phases; Phase 1, which entails pertinent documents screening, and Phase 2, which involves talent presentations and question & answer segments.

In her welcome remarks, Prof. Ermy C. Cabangangan, Student Affairs Office (SAO) Head, highlighted the purpose of this event is to give recognition to outstanding students and organizations.

“To not only exceed academically but help dedicate their talents and leadership abilities in making a difference in the university and respective communities,” Prof. Cabacangan said.

Moreover, Student Affairs & Services Office (SASO) Director Dr. Sonia T. Enrile, emphasized in her message the importance of the Search for Most Outstanding which is to acknowledge the remarkable and exceptional performances and achievements of the students.

“For we know, and I believe that if a person is appreciated, [they] will always do more than is expected. Appreciating and rewarding is a great approach to celebrate hard work and success,” Dr. Enrile said.

Further, in attendance of the event are the Student Affairs and Services Office Director, Student Affairs Office Head, together with the members of the search committee.

Top 10 Finalists

Meanwhile, the second day of the Phase I consisted of the evaluation of pertinent documents by the Search Committee, followed by the declaration of the Finalists of the Most Outstanding 2023. The Finalists are:

7. Masong, Katrina Bianca R. (BSOA)

8. Salazar, Cesar Jacinto P. (BSCHEM)

9. Samaro, Ruzel Mae A. (BSOA)

10. Baco, Raffy D. (BSA)

11. Baquiro, Carl Nathaniel (BSCE)

MOSEVSU will continue with Phase II on Friday, June 9, at the Miguel Romualdez Memorial Auditorium. In light of this, SASO invites everyone to witness the aforementioned event from 1 PM to 4 PM.
