
As an affirmation to the academic excellence, dedication, and utmost services of the graduates in their academic pursuit, Eastern Visayas State University commenced the Day 1 of the 102nd Commencement Exercises for the class of 2024 at the Leyte Academic Center Palo, Leyte, June 18.
The University President presented a total of 686 candidates for graduation, to be awarded their college degrees and to receive their diplomas; 234 graduates are from the College of Technology (COT) and 443 graduates from the College of Education (COED).
The Medal of Excellence for DOST-SEI Scholar and the Sen. Villar Excellence Awards were awarded to deserving graduates for their unwavering dedication and determination in their studies.
Moreover, Dr. Aldrin A. Darilag, Chairman of the Board of Regents, delivered his message to the graduates highlighting the success in their academic journey is a product of their hard work and commitment.
“You are our bastion of hope to continue building a dynamic future-proof, and inclusive education in the country. Without a single doubt, I will am certain that you will continue to excel in all your future endeavors.” Dr. Darilag exclaimed.
In his Commencement Address, Judge Mario O. Quinit of the Regional Trial Court emphasized the reality after graduation—entering the labor force with the employment rate of the country. However, he encouraged the graduates saying, “Fear not the unknown for it is only in your mind. Instead, be wary and fearful of not giving a try for you don’t have any reason in not giving a try.” “After all, EVSU has provided you with all the knowledge both in theory and practice and the skills and abilities you need not only to address the circumstances that lay ahead but more importantly to further build on that foundation.” Judge Quinit asserted.
Furthermore, Day 2 will start tomorrow morning with the commencement exercises of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and the College of Business and Entrepreneurship (COBE), while the College of Engineering (COE) and the College of Architecture and Allied Discipline (CAAD) will transpire in the afternoon.
