EVSU kicks off Christmas season with village lighting ceremony

Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) was lit up with vibrant colors through the Christmas Village Lighting Ceremony, signifying the start of Christmas season, today, December 4, held in front of the Administration Building Lobby

University President Dr. Dennis C. De Paz, joined by other university key officials, actively participated in the lighting ceremony, casting a joyful atmosphere over the university community.

Dr. De Paz enthusiastically delivered an inspirational message for the event, emphasizing the essence of hope and generosity.

“The spirit of Christmas season — may this remind us that our real source of joy is not in receiving, but in giving. It is not what we receive from others but what we give and do for the welfare that makes us truly happy” says university president.

Amidst the radiant lights, students and faculty gathered to embody the spirit of Christmas.

Paul Fabra from the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering shared his experience and appreciation during the Christmas lighting.

“Nafeel ko talaga an spirit han Christmas paagi han ira efforts han pan lights. An feeling han Christmas, nasink in talaga ha individual pareho ha akon. Maupay hiya nakakaenjoy ngan nakakagaan ha loob” he stressed.

In addition to the fervor, diverse student performers and cultural groups presented nostalgic OPM songs and Christmas-beat music and dances, resonating with the season’s spirit.

The Christmas Village, a month-long exhibit, will persist in radiating Yuletide vibes across the campus, enhancing the festive spirit for all EVSUnistas.
