
Glamour, talent, and charm took center stage as Mr. Mc Arron Sales Tecson of Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) – Tanauan Campus and Ms. Krisha Kyle Cabidog from the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) were hailed as Mr. and Ms. EVSU 2025 during the pageant’s grand coronation night, held at the Miguel Romualdez Memorial Auditorium, Tuesday, September 2.
The preliminary competition set the stage with 11 pairs of candidates captivating the audience through a series of segments that highlighted both form and intellect with contestants gracing the event with elegance during the production number, proudly wore their core heritage costumes to showcase cultural identity, and demonstrated wit and confidence in the talent presentation and question and answer portions.
Kicking off the grand coronation, University President Dr. Dennis de Paz delivered an inspiring message, expressing his enthusiasm and gratitude while reminding candidates of the true purpose of being ambassadors of the university.
“Mr. and Ms. EVSU is more than just a showcase of poise and grace, it is a celebration of character and courage to step forward and represent the best of who you are. As we gather under this year’s theme, ‘One EVSU 2.0: Stronger Together For Resiliency And Climate Action,’ we are reminded of the collective responsibility we share in protecting our environment and preparing for the challenges of our time,” he expressed.
Meanwhile, clinching the first runner-up spots were SAS’ male representative Mr. Markus Gabriel Deluta and Ms. Ricci Izobel Mandreza from the School of Architecture and Allied Disciplines (SAAD).
Following them were SAAD’s male candidate Mr. Dave Zhred Olino and Ms. Michelle Suarez Balderas from EVSU – Ormoc Campus, who secured the second runner-up titles, while Mr. Markus Gabriel Viña Deluta from the School of Engineering (SOE) and Ms. Reneza Maranan Ombega from EVSU – Carigara Campus secured the third runner-up spots.
Furthermore, EVSU – Ormoc Campus’ bet Mr. JC Lloyd Aligway Arguilles, paired with Ms. Princess Jilianne Caparosso Octavanio from the School of Engineering (SOE), claimed the fourth runner-up spot during the pageant’s grand coronation.
In the Q&A portion, newly crowned Mr. EVSU 2025 encouraged students to treat others with respect and compassion as response to the question about staying true to oneself and maintaining inner values in the face of criticism.
“As an EVSUnista, I believe that strength is kindness. And by living, standing firm in my values while treating others with respect and compassion, I believe that it can lead to a better environment for everyone,” Mr. EVSU asserted.
Meanwhile, Ms. EVSU 2025, Krisha Kyle Cabidog described her setback as a lesson to do better in the future by answering a question regarding overcoming failure and the lessons learned from it.
“I was once an engineering student, an Electronics and Communication Engineering student, but this path was not meant for me and I decided to transfer or switch courses in which I am now an economics student. I may have failed once but I know I am resilient, I know I can do better, and through this new chapter in life I can have a better future ahead,” she expressed.
The newly crowned Mr. and Ms. EVSU 2025 will serve as the university’s ambassadors, pushing towards excellence and progress for EVSU.
