Paper Rex has finally secured their long-awaited global championship after defeating FNATIC 3-1 in the grand finals of VALORANT Masters Toronto at Canada Enercare Centre, June 22.

The victory marks the end of a painful era for PRX, who had endured three consecutive years of international heartbreak, falling short in Masters Copenhagen (2022), Champions Los Angeles (2023), and other key events despite deep playoff runs.

Their journey to the top culminated in a dramatic four-map showdown: Sunset 13-11, Icebox 15-17, Pearl 13-10, and Lotus 14-12.

“I think we just realized that the most important thing for us was to be a lot more calmer, you know, rather than rushing things,” said Alexandre “Alecks” Salle during the VCT Masters Toronto Post-Match Press Conference.

Jason “f0rsakeN” Susanto led the charge as in-game leader and flex player, earning the grand finals MVP bracelet for his clutch performance on Omen, Sova, and Astra.

He racked up 81 kills, 75 deaths, and 32 assists, which reflected his impact across the tense series.

The win was also a breakout moment for PRX’s Filipino rookie, Patrick “PatMen” Mendoza.

Making his first appearance on the global stage, PatMen contributed 67 kills, 72 deaths, and 24 assists while playing Viper and Fade.

His calm presence and key plays helped fuel PRX’s aggressive, high-tempo style throughout the series.

PRX is set to return to competition in Stage 2 of the VCT 2025: Pacific and the Esports World Cup this July.
