MOCO ’26 recognizes program, service, values-oriented campus org

In recognition of campus organizations’ excellence in various fields and contributions to the university community, the Most Outstanding Campus Organization (MOCO) presented distinctions in three categories to different student organizations during the awarding of the Most Outstanding Campus Organization (MOCO) 2026 held at the Miguel Romualdez Memorial Auditorium Auditorium, Thursday, May 28.

Among the qualified student-led organizations, the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines Eastern Visayas State University Student Chapter (IECEP EVSU SC) clinched the Most Outstanding Program-Oriented Campus Organization award.

Meanwhile, the Department of Science and Technology EVSU Scholars’ Council for Leadership Assistance and Responsibilities (DOST-ESCoLAR) bagged the Service-Oriented Category, while Campus Crusade for Christ EVSU LinC received the Values-Oriented distinction.

Meanwhile, in an interview, Louigie Guillera, president of the IECEP EVSU-SC, shared that the organization’s active participation in competitions, partnerships, and university activities, along with their commitment to excellence, contributed to their recognition.

“I think our ‘secret’ was our active involvement through joining competitions, strengthening partnerships, and staying engaged in different activities of the university, combined with that one shared mindset: excellence is never an option, but a standard we continuously strive for,” he shared.

He also added that the organization remains committed to serving its constituents while continuing to pursue excellence through meaningful programs and initiatives.

“As officers, we have committed to always be leaders of our constituents and for our constituents. As an organization, we will continue grounding ourselves in our vision and mission, that is serving the people while pursuing excellence at all times. By staying true to these values, we aim to remain active, involved, and consistent in delivering meaningful programs for the community,” Guillera said.

Moreover, in an interview with Rafael Real, president of CRU EVSU Student LinC, he shared that the recognition serves as motivation for the organization to continue its initiatives and strengthen its service to the EVSU community.

“Receiving this recognition serves not only as an achievement for CRU SlinC, but also as a reminder of God’s faithfulness and a motivation to continue serving the EVSU community with excellence and humility. By God’s grace, the organization plans to sustain its initiatives by strengthening leadership development programs, expanding outreach efforts, and continuing to create activities that promote values formation, unity, and student empowerment,” he shared.

Additionally, he added that despite being less visible compared to other organizations, CRU SlinC continues to uphold its long-standing commitment to service and values formation within the university.

“Although CRU SlinC may be less visible compared to some organizations today, by God’s grace, the organization has continued to uphold its long-standing history of service and values formation within the campus. In fact, CRU SlinC is one of the longest-standing values-oriented organizations in the university,” he added.

The awards were presented across different categories to recognize the contributions and initiatives of student organizations in different discipline within the university.
