It’s not everyday that doors open, leading a path towards the progress of both our mind and passion. But, opportunities, as they come and go, leave marks behind and bring about significant change in a life. Such as the effort of the Philippine Communications Office as they brought their first community caravan outside the National Capital Region (NCR), bringing honor and golden dreams to the EVSUnistas in the field of journalism.

Gleaming the interests of not just the campus journalists of Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) – Main Campus, but also the students with the heart to write and be of service to the people, once again were given reasons to persevere and continue with their hopes. Embodying a guiding light, the staff of several agencies including the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Radyo Pilipinas, PTV, RTVM, and the Philippine News Agency (PNA), stood tall and showered the students the power of making a difference which each can make within the society by taking on the challenge towards a dream.

“For those who have ambitions to be part of the media, I salute you. It is not an easy job. You often work a lot more than other people with other professions but a lot of responsibility is also hanging on you if you want to become a communicator – a member of the media,” said the Undersecretary Emerald Ridao of the Presidential Communications Office.

Just like the answer of Miss Universe 2015, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, it is indeed both an honor and responsibility of accepting the challenge of bravely taking up a space in the community for the service of the people. As the Philippine Communications Office (PCO) take the step outside the National Capital Region (NCR) for their community caravan for the first time, moving forward in sure paces is an inspiration they sure will pass on to the students who have witnessed the great experience of the 2-day caravan.

This community caravan has brought inspiration to the aspirants of today – that to achieve a dream, focus on the small steps in front of the open door, and take the steps with caution and confidence, because each can make a difference in a life, whether it’s yours or of others. That, indeed, it is with braving a beginning that we can truly spark a fire in our passion, giving it a fuel to ignite and inspire throughout our life.
