I was in a time machine. I witnessed the tapestry of a fashionable collection, I entered a story of a perpetual artistry, and I met the honorable leaders of our university. I saw them, and it feels like I was taken to their regime.

It was a festive afternoon when a corner of the administration lobby attracted my attention. I do not have very clear eyesight, so I immediately thought it was a portal that shines brightly as it outshone the colorful view of the university’s 117th founding anniversary celebration gimmicks and it invited me to come over. When I entered the woven entrance, I suddenly wandered.

A walk through an ageless haute couture

I do not belong here. I immediately realized as I compared what I was wearing towards the sophisticated clothing facing upfront me. They were antagonizing me, as if what I’m wearing is nothing but a second rate to the perfection of past and present blend of style and creativity it possesses. Every design was woven to complement raw and indigenous materials touched with the aesthetic of modern style. Even the old fashioned sleeve kimono transformed into a modern Filipiniana. Such a fashionable collection reflects a woven culture and modern trends.

As it raises the banner of “Sustainable Couture: Bridging Heritage and Tomorrow” it symbolizes a fashion that advances way forward to a fashionable splendor.

So I stepped out of the runway, then I discovered a magical story. In a timeless masterpiece

Everything was familiar. Obviously, I saw our generation’s artistry, only that I was intrigued with a few strange incorporated creativity. They call it a “Futurescape Reflections: A brush with the 21st century innovative imagination” and perhaps this is an illustration of what visions and aspirations encapsulates when stroked behind the great minds of 21st century artists. It evokes a story- more than just creativity but a reflection of the future’s reality.

It’s a vivid display of the futuristic 21st century, like the leaders who I met that brought a future to our university.

Meeting a Chronicle of Legacy

They were smiling, and those smiles were so inviting I could feel it radiate something amazing. I am standing in front of a collection of charcoal paintings, capturing the faces of the leaders who maneuvered the university and the sight of these faces is an odyssey of an honorable legacy for they were the chieftains of the university who throughout the time transformed the university as to what it is today.

“Brushstroke of Legacy: A charcoal Chronicle of EVSU Presidents” is a curated attempt that appeals to leave an impression to the audience and let them realize that once upon a time, there were leaders who brought Eastern Visayas State University to a pedestal of progress and prosperity.

“What a great display” Someone suddenly say, then I woke up to reality as I saw myself in the hallway where there is a curated display. Sense now came into me, I did not actually travel in the past, I just saw the artworks and artifacts in a memorabilia and art exhibit as part of the university festivity.
