Demonstrating his mastery of the piano, Vladymer Lipata from the Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education, Major in Automotive Technology (BTVTEd-AT) bagged the second spot in the Instrumental solo competition for the Music category in this year’s PASUC-8 Regional Festival, held at VSU Convention Center, October 19.

Competing alongside other state universities and colleges (SUCs), Lipata emerged victorious with his performance of Ryan Cayabyab’s famous composition, ‘Tuwing Umuulan At Kapiling Ka’.

Despite facing challenges as a first-timer in instrumental solo, given his experience in a live band, he still gave his best during his performance.

“This is my first time joining the instrumental solo though I have experienced playing in a live band contest, However, I tried my best in one week to make it,” said Lipata.

Moreover, he is still in disbelief after winning the competition, as he did not expect anything, but he simply poured his heart into his performance.

“I didn’t expect to be announced as a winner, since all of the delegations performed well. I, along with others, simply poured our hearts into our performances,” he added.

Furthermore, Lipata complimented the EVSU’s efforts in ensuring that the delegates would have a safe and pleasant stay at VSU.
