Students can now borrow tablets from the Library via their Library Card. With ten tablet devices available for usage, this aims to enhance students’ educational experience by providing access to technology for academic purposes.

These tablets are equipped with features that are particularly useful for academic tasks, such as document creation, PowerPoint presentations, and other educational materials; whether students are taking notes, writing a research paper, or preparing presentations, these tablets offer a convenient tool.

University Librarian Ms. Erlinda G. Ayles expressed her insights on how it can benefit EVSU students.

“Though it is not enough, at least we have ten (10) of those tablets intended for those students who don’t have gadgets. These are aids for the students where they can use it for their research and studies, and an alternative also for the computer desktops at the multimedia center,” the university librarian said.

Meanwhile, Angel Amante from the Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA) expressed her delight in how the tablets can help her studies.

“Maupay hiya kay it waray nagagamit nga—example, laptop, magiging alternative hiya so, bisan aadi la ha library, makakagamit la gihap and makakahimo kala gihap tim mga hirimuon,” Angel said.

“Kun waray niyo gadgets nga magagamit gud kanan pagstudy or kun cellphone la an iyo gin-gagamit, may available nga tablets didi ha library nga pwede mahuram,” she added.

Moreover, students must present their Library Card at the EVSU Main Library to borrow a tablet, and the process is straightforward, ensuring quick access to the tablets.

However, it is essential to note that the use of tablets is restricted to the library premises and operating hours only.

The introduction of tablet borrowing at the EVSU Main Library marks a positive development in the university’s efforts to support student learning. By providing access to technology within the library premises, EVSU demonstrates its commitment to fostering academic excellence and innovation among its students.

As technology plays a crucial role in education, initiatives like this pave the way for a more dynamic and engaging learning environment towards a Smart University.
