
To foster quality assurance for foreign students in the future, the Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) – Main Campus underwent its second phase of accreditation through physical inspection conducted by the officials from the Bureau of Immigration in compliance with the Student Mobility Program, November 14.
Once accredited, said program will amplify the learning experience of EVSUnistas which will enable them to study internationally and accept foreign students in the university once the Bureau of Immigration gives a provision to do so.
The first phase of the application process was to monitor the documents including the permits for fire and sanitation which was already completed by the university.
Moreso, Dr. Danilo B. Pulma, Vice President for Internationalization and External Affairs stated in an interview about some of the requirements needed to properly fulfill the said program.
“Usa nga phase han pagevaluate is an physical inspection that’s why they are here to inspect everything like number of CR’s, situation of classrooms, if there are fire extinguishers present. So more or less amo tun hiya an reason nira pagkanhi, ” he said.
He also added that it would lead to another phase after the second evaluation where officials coming from the national office will be assigned to supervise the university.
Further, Dr. Pulma emphasized that any university that wants to have the Student Mobility Program should undergo the same process and have the approval from the agency.
“Lahat ng university all over the country na gusto magkamayda hin Student Mobility Program ibig sabihin nagpapadala tayo ng studyante outside the philippines and nakakaaccept tayo ng mga student, dapat may approval from the Bureau of Immigration,” he added.
The physical inspection visited the different classrooms and offices around the school including the Student Publications Office (SPO), COOP Cafeteria, BAC Office, SASO Building, Executive Building.
