TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte – Lyn Rose Nalda, a second-year Home Economics student at Eastern Visayas State University, is poised to hit all the right notes during the grand finale of Campus Idol 2024.

At 26, Lyn has faced significant challenges balancing motherhood, education, and a passion for music. “I want my son to see that anything is possible with hard work,” she says.

Despite being older than many of her competitors, Lyn views her age as an asset. “I want to show that age is just a number,” she asserts confidently.

Known for her powerful vocals and engaging stage presence, Lyn has become a standout competitor in the contest. Her success is attributed to the unwavering support from her department and mentors.

“I’m especially thankful to my mentors who have made me matatag (strong),” she notes.

Lyn will face off against finalists from St. Paul’s School of Professional Studies, ACLC College Tacloban, Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation, and Asian Development College.

“I hope to show people that you shouldn’t hesitate to share your talents. Your passion becomes beautiful when you’re dedicated to it,” she adds.

As part of her journey, Lyn is also vying for the People’s Choice Award.

For those eager to see Lyn perform live, the contest’s grand finale will take place at 3 PM on September 28 at Robinson’s North here in Tacloban City.
