The Federation of Junior Marketing Association (FJMA) convened Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing Management (BSBA-MM) students in Himangraw 2026, to broaden their understanding of the marketing field, held at the ABS-CBN Function Hall, Wednesday, September 30.
With the theme, “From Insight to Impact: Branding the Future of Marketista,” the annual forum served as the organization’s general assembly and orientation activity for new and existing members.
The program opened with a presentation highlighting the organization’s accomplishments throughout the years, followed by the introduction of resource speakers who shared their experiences of overcoming early failures and building success in their respective industries, encouraging students to embrace failure as a step toward growth.
In her message, Dr. Marichu Armada, Dean of the School of Accountancy, Management and Entrepreneurship (SAME), emphasized that the gathering was more than a meetup, but an opportunity to gain insights and prepare for their future as marketing professionals.
“This gathering is more than an orientation and general assembly. It is an opportunity to learn and be inspired as you prepare for your future as marketing professionals,” she said.
The dean also emphasized that marketing goes beyond selling products, as it involves understanding people, building relationships, and making a difference.
Furthermore, FJMA President Rosette Claire Sabido shared that Himangraw aims to encourage ‘Marketistas’ not to limit their understanding of the program, but urging them to explore the journey of being a marketing student.
“To encourage the [marketing] students, especially those nga diri pa sure [on] what are they taking, na ma-push ba hira or motivate that marketing is not just about sales lady type, it’s not about that—diri dapat nira ig-limit didto,” she stated.
The program also featured an open forum where participants engaged with the resource speakers, raising questions and sharing their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities in the marketing field.
Meanwhile, Ayessa Labajo, first-year class president of BSBA-MM 1A, said the forum expanded her knowledge about business through the insights and experiences shared by the resource speakers.
“As a first-year student na diri bagat first choice an marketing, it helps me to expand my knowledge through Himangraw kasi actually nags-start ako tak sarili na business. Through their insights, through their advice han mga speakers, nagka-mayada ako idea [on] how to start on my own,” Labajo shared.
The gathering also served as a preparatory activity for the organization’s upcoming 15th International Business Summit, which will be held at the People’s Center and Library in Tacloban City on November 5-6, 2026.
