ORDExS Day ’23 strengthens university research capacity

As part of the ORDExS Day Celebration in line with the 19th Charter Anniversary, Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) – Main Campus conducted a Research & Development, and Extension Services Forum anchored on the theme “Opportunity, Resilience, and Diversity: Embracing ORDExS for excellence” attended by different universities and colleges held on August 17, Thursday via Zoom.

Dr. Analyn C. Españo, Vice President for Research & Development and Extension Services gave her words of Welcome and Message of Support to the forum.

Further, Hasselt University Biostatistician and ICP Coordinator Dr. Jade Vincent Q. Membrebe served as the main Resource Speaker of the activity with his discussion on ‘Armchair Statistician: How Statistics Can Lead You the Wrong Way.’

Moreover, two significant initiatives has been launched, namely the CARE Camp and Learning Institute For Environment (LIFE) Center Social Media Platforms through the dedication and commitment of the office of Research & Development and Extension Services.

To share more about the initiatives of CARE Camp, Dr. Analyn C. Españo stated that this is an option of their continued dedication and commitment to really serve the university, a platform and avenue to be together.

“Working collaboratively and come up with the strong collaborative innovation to strengthen the growing research culture of the university as well as to strengthen our university research ecosystem”, she expressed.

Meanwhile, Dr. Gerry B. De Capiz introduced LIFE, emphasizing that it’s the commitment to EVSU towards sustainable development through community engagement that focus on technological innovation, values formation, people empowerment etc.

Moreover, the program was followed by an official ribbon cutting ceremony, opening of the ORDExS Exhibit, Product Tour, RDE Awards and Recognition, and Awarding Ceremony.
