
Concluding the month-long celebration of the 19th Charter Anniversary of Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) and to provide an avenue to establish camaraderie in building a stronger and better academic community, the university, through the University Events Management Team, SASO and SSG, launched a thanksgiving party dubbed ‘Pasalamat Night’ that featured live band presentations, a foam party, and an amazing firework display in front of the Administration Building, Thursday, August 31.
The show was attended by the University President Dr. Dennis C. de Paz, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension Services Dr. Analyn Españo, Student Affairs and Services Office (SASO) Director Dr. Sonia T. Enrile, college deans, staff, and students.
SASO Director Dr. Enrile, in her Welcome Message, emphasized the importance of the said event in marking the end of the Charter celebration and on how it brought together the students and university personnel in a momentous event of sharing and giving thanks.
“As we come together, our hearts are filled with appreciation for the wonderful blessings we received and for a very successful Charter Celebration. This event is a reminder of the power of togetherness and the importance of giving thanks for all that we have”, the Director said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Españo expressed her gratitude for all the blessings that have been showered upon the university and the contribution of the students in making the event a success in her talk during the short opening program.
“Indeed, EVSU has been so grateful for all the blessings and all the goodness that happened to EVSU. Our gathering is becoming bigger, your presence is an added significance to the existence of this prestigious university”, Dr. Españo exclaimed.
Band presentations from talented and music-enthusiasts EVSUnistas made the attendees jam and chant as their music resonated in the university grounds spanning a diverse list of music genres filling the night with a dynamic atmosphere.
In the middle of the celebration, an explosive surprise painted the night sky with an array of shimmering and bursting shades of colors with the captivating and mesmerizing display of fireworks which left the onlookers bedazzled.
Jayzel Esmeralda, a Bachelor in Physical Education (BPED) student and an attendee to the said party expressed her excitement and experience attending the show and her gratitude towards the event organizers for a wonderful and successful event giving her a remarkable memory worth remembering.
“The crowd is having their great time, everyone is banging up to the bands, the fireworks display that feels everyone special plus the majestic foam and light effects that made everyone so obsessed with the party. I couldn’t stop jumping and hyping because of the excitement that I felt during the party. Kudos to all the staff behind the party, you all mark another impressive and fantastic memory of our college life”, she said.
While the show marks the end of the Charter Anniversary Celebration, it tags the start of new friendships, hope, and unity among all EVSUnistas.
