To celebrate excellence and strengthen unity of its employees across campuses, the Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) honored outstanding officials, faculty, and staff during the EVSUnista Awards & Grand Social/Fellowship Night, anchored on the theme “One EVSU 2.0: Stronger Together for Resiliency and Climate Action,” held at the Leyte Academic Center in Palo, Leyte, Friday, August 29.
Said event brought together university key officials, faculty members, and non-teaching personnel from across campuses of the university donned in their Bohemian-themed attires, promoting solidarity and camaraderie across the EVSU community.
In his inspirational message, University President Dr. Dennis de Paz highlighted the importance of the gathering, underscoring the true essence of being an EVSUnista.
“The EVSUnista Awards are not merely about recognition — they are about honoring the dedication, determination, and passion that each awardee has poured into their academic pursuits, roles, artistic expressions, athletic triumphs, and service to the community. You are the living embodiment of what it means to be an EVSUnista — resilient, visionary, and committed to excellence,” Dr. de Paz said.
He further noted that the fellowship night served as an opportunity for the entire EVSU community to unite not just in celebrating individual achievements but also in recognizing their shared journey, reinforcing the bonds within the academic community and the university as a whole.
Moreover, a key part of the event was the EVSUnista Awards, which recognized outstanding members of the university for their exemplary contributions and service.
