Univ honors alumni excellence with ‘Tatak EVSUnista award’

To recognize the outstanding contribution and pride the Eastern Visayas State University alumni have brought to the institution in the fields of technology, leadership, and professional education, the university spearheaded the ‘Tatak EVSU Award’ in line with the Alumni Day celebration held at the Inner Court, today, October 13.

The Tatak EVSU Award honorees were Philippine Statistics Authority-Region 8 Regional Director Wilma Pirante, Municipal Mayor of Babatngon, Leyte Hon. Eleanor Lugnasin, and of Municipality of Tunga, Leyte Mayor Hon. Reinbert Costelo who received a certificate as a token and delivered inspirational messages to the students in acing their academic years in the institution.

PSA Regional Director, Mrs. Perante shared in her talk how being a student holds a lot of difficulties and encouraged them to see their achievements as a model and motivation in overcoming these challenges.

“Yung pagiging estudyante is a proof nga mahirap pero you can see us as models na kahit dumaan tayo sa anumang hirap, we can see your future because of the hardships you’ve encountered,” said the Director.

Moreover, Hon. Costelo emphasized the essence of having peers and good people as companions in achieving your dreams and making the best out of you.

“I encourage everyone to surround yourselves with good people that would bring the best of you, not to degrade you,” he expressed.

Meanwhile, Hon. Lugnasi stressed that nothing can hinder achieving your success, not even poverty as long as you vouch and invest in your studies.

“Iton kapobrehan dire iton nakakabalaong iton aton pagtapos, inawot unta kamo nga mga bata ig priority niyo it education,” she underscored.

The event was conducted alongside the celebration of the University Students’ Welcome Activity & Gathering.
