A glimpse of the silver screen

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is a glimpse of fantasy- a story of the old and new. Just like the pages of the book in the story of Eastern Visayas State University, there are limitless possibilities of stories told and to be held.

As part of the EVSU 19th Charter Anniversary, the EVSUnistas Awards and fellowship night for faculty members and non-teaching personnel strike the dust of transformation as they turn the venue into a world of moviedom characters.

From the magical world of Hogwarts to the colorful and seemingly perfect world of Barbie Land, characters of various genres come to life as they portray the marvelous features mirroring glamorous, fashionable, and impressive light of reenactment scenes, conquering the real world with great passion to create and write a script for the roles of the community.

Gathered in a dolled-up look, sashayed to showcase their respective college and campuses’ presentations, various faculty and non-teaching staff reveal their scenic presentation like a marathon on the screen for others to see.

But just like the world of filmdom, only one wish was granted and charmed the night with the magic of being the greatest show. This humbling victory cast spells to ensure that going on the board journey of being a real-life hero for EVSUnistas is to also integrate fellowship and camaraderie into the community.

According to Ms. Kate Robiño, an instructor from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), the role of the teacher is comparable with the antagonist and protagonist in movies in the phase of being flexible and sharing valuable skills that are like a golden ticket for the whole, a way to portray unity.

“As an instructor, you should not only focus on the knowledge side, of sharing and imparting knowledge to your students but also to being able to share with the community that you also need to have talents, knowledge, and skills.” Ms. Robiño stated in an interview.

Moreover, just like a film that overcomes challenges before reaching a happy ending, foreseeing a better vision does not end on the rotation of the four walls of a room because to reconnect with others is to display a wider range that is significant for the institution.

“We also have creativity inside us that is also a benefit for all institutions”, she added.

Getting lost in the storyline and going on a journey like in the movie, there is always an achievement to unlock, a happy ending that never comes with luck. In reality, it’s always the same, the dedication and the willpower to undergo a championship, are proof that at the end of the rainbow, is the glimpse of a colorful silver lining.
