Students partake in VPAA Day exhibit, showcase skills in talent

Eastern Visayas State University celebrates the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) Day 2023 with an Opening of Exhibition participated by different colleges at the Administration Lobby on August 24 in honor of the 19th Charter Month Celebration.

VPAA Dr. Lydia M. Morante, who formally opened the Opening of Exhibit, acknowledged the students, in her opening remarks, for making this momentous event possible despite the limited preparation time.

“We can see all of this product from their ingenuity and their creativity. So, thank you so much everyone and welcome to this celebration of our 19th Charter Anniversary.” Dr. Morante said.

The cutting of ribbons transpired afterwards spearheaded by the VP for Academic Affairs and the VP for Administration and Finance, along with the other Campus Directors and College Deans.

Said exhibitions such as the display of stylish clothes and wearables, presentation of students’ artworks, and science experiments as well as delectable desserts and other consumables ready to be sold.

Moreover, Kyzyl Mhy K. Bascon, a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry student shared their reasons for participating in the said exhibition.

“We would like to share the beauty of Chemistry, what we do in the laboratory, and the simple techniques we do there.” Bascon said.

Further, Bascon also expressed their anticipation and excitement for the people in the event.

“I am looking forward to encouraging people to Chemistry and hopefully tell them that Chemistry is not just a hard subject, but it is also beautiful as it entails a lot of things.” she added.

Meanwhile, Margel Badion from the College of Business and Entrepreneurship (COBE) claimed that they encountered some adversities and showed resilience during the preparation process for the said exhibit.

“An pinakauna is an time, medyo kulang. Ngan, mayda iba iba nga ideas, bagan nag samok kay tungod iba iba it amon ideas.” Badion said.

Different activities such as variety shows, spoken poetry, dances, and musical performances followed through after the official opening of the exhibit.
