‘University President Dr. Dennis C. De Paz says it is now up to the initiative and collaboration of the EVSU’s student-leaders when asked if there are amendments to the dress code and haircut policy of the university during the Dulag Campus Harampang, August 12, at the campus’ Function Hall.
The External Campus’ Harampang starts the celebration of the university’s 20th Charter Anniversary, with the Dulag Campus being the first stop of the presidential visit’s roadmap. President De Paz urged the student-leaders from all campuses of the university system, through the Federation of Student Government (FSG), to revisit and investigate the necessity of the dress code and haircut policy’s implementation throughout the university campuses.
He added that the amendments made will still need to be presented to the university’s faculty as well as the Board of Directors in order to gain approval and to proceed with implementation. However, he emphasised that the amendment of the clothing and haircut policy should not be damaging to the university’s image, which includes clothing that may be obscene, offensive, or uncomfortable to the wearer and the environment they are in.
With the election of the new officers of the university FSG last August 8, Thursday, we are yet to hear the government’s plans on revisiting the University Code’s dress code and haircut policy.
