
College of Technology (COT) freshman students emerged victorious in this year’s celebration of the University Students’ Welcome Activity and Gathering (USWAG), also recieving the ‘Best in Chants and Yells’ and the ‘Best in Props and Costume’ special awards held at the Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) Open Field, August 22.
The annual celebration of the USWAG continues despite the light rain felt during the USWAG walk of the freshmen prior to the event.
Overwhelmed and grateful, COT freshman Alyanna Miel Ocier expressed her confidence following their college department’s win.
“Well, deserve talaga kay maaram kami na ginhatag namon an amon best para hadto na amon performance han USWAG,” says Ocier.
Meanwhile, the College of Business and Entrepreneurship (COBE) bagged the 1st placer trophy along with the Best in ‘Costume and Props’ special award, while the College of Education (COEd) secured the 2nd place title.
Other university college departments that took part in the event included the College of Architecture and Allied Discipline (CAAD), the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), and the College of Engineering (COE), all of which received consolation prizes for their participation.
Moreover, the event also featured a torch lighting led by the university president, key officials, and deans from each college, symbolizing the start of the students’ new academic journey.
