EVSU performing arts to accept online applications amid face-to-face classes suspension

In line with the university’s advisory on the temporary suspension of on-site classes, the Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) Performing Arts Group announced on October 16 that its annual screening and auditions will proceed through online submissions.

According to the performing arts group, interested applicants are required to accomplish the official registration form available through the link below, affix their e-signature, and submit it in PDF format.

All entries and inquiries must be addressed to the Director for Culture and the Arts & Events Management Mr. Jerry Mores, through jerry.mores@evsu.edu.ph on or before Sunday, October 19.

For the audition requirements, Music, Dance, and Theater Arts applicants must submit a short video showcasing their performance, while Visual Arts applicants are required to provide signed sample artworks for authenticity.

The Visual Arts category, under Coordinator Mr. Mark Junrey Alegre, includes On-the-Spot Poster Making, Charcoal Rendering, Painting, and Photo Contest.

Meanwhile, the Music category, coordinated by Mr. Ian Arvin Cillo, covers Instrumental Solos such as Piano, Violin, Classical Guitar, and Banduria, Vocal Solo in Kundiman, Vocal Duet, Pop Solo, Live Band Competition, Chorale, and Show Choir.

The Dance category, under Mr. Mores, features Folk Dance, Indigenous Dance, Contemporary Dance, and Street Dance.

Furthermore, the Performing Arts category, coordinated by Mr. Kay Bathala Santos, includes Short and Sweet Play – Dialogue & Musical, and Radio Drama.

Lastly, the special category will screen applicants for the university’s representatives for the Mr. and Ms. Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) contest, giving students the opportunity to showcase their talent and represent EVSU in the inter-university competition.

Applicants are also encouraged to include a brief bionote highlighting their artistic background, creative interests, and motivation for joining the group.
