Univ staff, retirees achievements recognized in Parangal 2024

To recognize outstanding individuals for their dedication and service to the university, Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) celebrated excellence and achievement during the ‘Parangal 2024’ held at the Miguel Romualdez Memorial Auditorium, February 22, bringing together faculty, staff, and esteemed guests.

The event commenced with an opening ceremony, featuring performances from the EVSU Chorale, followed by a Korean-themed dance tribute to the honorees’ from the SAMLEYAW Performing Arts Group.

Vice President for Administration & Finance Dr. Benedicto T. Militante Jr. expressed gratitude to all attendees for their dedication and commitment to the university’s mission of excellence in his Welcome Address

“Don’t worry if you are not recognized but strive to be worthy of recognition. Let us make this event a memorable celebration, for love for work as government workers, as public servants—by dedication and commitment,” the Vice President said.

Moreover, University President Dr. Dennis C. de Paz correspondingly shared his Inspirational Message, expressing his appreciation to all the awardees for their outstanding service and commitment towards fostering the university.

“Always remember that all of us are important and an integral part of the historical fabric of this university. Without each one of you, we could not have reached the hundredth-seventeenth years. So, let us march forward with our unwavering commitment and service as we realized our cherished dreams for the University,” said the University President.

Following this, the evening’s highlight was the presentation of awards to ‘Loyalty Service Awardees & Retirees’ among the non-teaching personnel, with 21 recipients in total, 7 bronze, 10 silver, and 4 gold.

Concurrently, the Teaching Service Awardees, including retirees, totaled 81, with 41 bronze, 16 silver, and 11 gold recipients, alongside 13 retirees receiving awards.

Among the awardees was Mrs. Amelita M. Sari, a Gold Teaching Service Awardee, expressed her gratitude to her colleagues, emphasizing the importance of passion and dedication in the field of education during her acceptance speech.

“It is an immense honor not only for myself, but also for my fellow co-workers who have dedicated their lives for the noble profession of teaching,” she remarked.

The Parangal 2024 ceremony concluded with a message of inspiration and encouragement for all attendees to continue pursuing their passion and making a positive impact in their respective fields.
