EVSU holds univ research conference

To give avenue to local researchers in multidisciplinary arts and sciences, the College of Arts and Sciences launched a research congress dubbed as ‘ARADMAN Regional Multidisciplinary Research Conference’, at the Graduate School Hall, today, September 21.

Said event, anchored on the theme ‘globalizing multidisciplinary approaches in the 21st century’, was attended by faculty members from different higher education institutions (HEIs) in the region.
The Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Lydia M. Morante, through the newly designated CAS dean Dr. Glenda Tupaz, said in her Welcome Message that while the conference gives inputs to academics, it is also helpful to researchers.

“This conference provide inputs to the academics, but also to the specific beneficiary to the researchers,” Dr. Tupaz said.

Meanwhile, Graduate School Dean Dr. Gabino Petilos explains that the conference aims to provide an avenue for young scholars in the region to showcase their research work to fellow researchers in the academic world.

“The inputs of research add up to the reservoir of knowledge in different disciplines,” Dr. Petilos exclaimed.

Moreover, University President Dr. Dennis C. de Paz highlighted the significance of the field of research in his Inspirational Message.

“You passionately invest time and resources to provide scalable solutions and innovative ways feasible to address the many problems confronting our time, such as economic instabilities, food security, natural and man-made disasters, issues in education, and the emergence of infectious diseases, among others,” Dr. de Paz said.

Furthermore, Keynote Speaker Dr. Pacienca Milan, former Professor at Visayas State University (VSU), said that research is an academic exercise that promotes academic excellence.

“One pillar of attaining academic excellence is doing research, and excellence can be achieved by hard work, endurance, and focus,” Dr. Milan said.

The conference, conducted in collaboration with EVSU Graduate School, was also conducted in line with the celebration of the College of Arts and Sciences Days.
